My Story

Writing has never been optional. Like eating and breathing, writing is a requirement for everyday life. It's an integral part of who I am. Every day I am thankful to be able to make a career from something that brings me so much joy.

Nothing worth doing is ever easy - and the same is true for starting my writing journey. Transitioning from a typical career into full-time writing was a leap of faith, not only for myself but for my family and friends who would be my support system.

It wasn’t easy getting my first break in the publishing world. Fortunately, I took the opportunity to submit my work to the Nebraska Writers Guild's publications department.  That one step opened doors and began the first chapter of my professional literary life.

I continue to work on my craft daily, finding inspiration for my poetry and short stories all around me, from my new office that streams a soft sunlight over my desk in the morning to the amazing, sharp words of my children. Every day is a gift. I'm not going to waste a single moment.

Forbidden Fruit

I am extremely proud and excited to share my latest work Forbidden Fruit: Poems of Love, Loss, Hope and Regret.

Not afraid to delve into the darkness we all face, Forbidden Fruit walks a heart-wrenching trail through our desire for love and acceptance.
